Lincolnshire over the Counter Public Consultation

Lincolnshire East Clinical Commissioning Group, Lincolnshire West Clinical Commissioning Group, South Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group and South West Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group are the local NHS organisations responsible for planning, organising and buying NHS funded healthcare for the 731,500 people in Lincolnshire. They need your views on proposals to restrict the prescribing of over the counter/minor ailment medicines used for short-term, self-limiting conditions.

These are medicines which can be bought from your local pharmacy or supermarket, such as painkillers and antihistamines.

This also includes restricting the prescription of gluten-free products, baby milk including specialist infant formula and nutritional supplements - unless in exceptional circumstances.

However, these medicines and products will still be available for conditions where the clinical need can only be met by prescription.
